Japanese precision and service are hallmarks in ANA’s highly regarded Business Class, which includes its newest product known as “The Room,” available on a few of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.

Just as with the solo seats along the aisle, these center-section pairs alternate row by row, with even-numbered suites facing forward and odd-numbered rows facing backward.

I was able to watch a full movie in the time the meal service took. Given the length of the flight, it didn't exactly cut into my sleep time, though it could be a nuisance to those looking to fall asleep not long after take-off. Overall, throughout the course of the flight, service was friendly but reserved.

Let's start with the positives: Bedding. There are two excellent pillows, a great duvet, and underneath it all, a very substantial mattress pad. Make that mattress pad a bit wider to cover up more of the sleeping surface and the bedding in ANA would be an absolute home run.

If you need to freshen up, shower suites are available for 15 minutes at a time – just approach the staff and let them know you’d like to book in to use one of the suites.

This space is simply in another league than almost any other lounge you'll find in the states, business class or not. It's spacious and well-designed with plenty of comfortable seating, a full wing of restrooms, dedicated shower suites and nap pods, and more.
